I teach Guitar, Bass Guitar and Piano
My Story
My journey in music began at the age of eight with the piano, where I was initially taught by my grandmother, fostering a deep connection to music within a supportive family tradition of teaching. As I entered secondary school, I picked up the guitar, which has since become my primary instrument. I now teach guitar, bass, and piano.
My approach to musical education is rooted in a continuous pursuit of excellence and a strong focus on the fundamentals. I have actively sought out diverse, high-calibre mentorship to shape my playing and teaching philosophy, learning from influential musicians such as:
-
Reuben James (pianist for Stormzy, Disclosure, Sam Smith, etc.)
-
Kiefer (jazz/hip-hop pianist and composer)
-
Guitarists Horace Bray, Melanie Faye, and Tomo Fujita (John Mayer's teacher).

These experiences have provided me with advanced knowledge in musical performance, theory, songwriting, and technique. I hold a Grade 8 Rock School qualification for guitar and believe in using technical foundations as a springboard for creative freedom and self-expression, moving beyond traditional grade structures.
Performance is a constant and evolving part of my musical life. I regularly gig in the local music scene, playing in both function/cover bands and original music projects. I am also an active writer and independent artist, recently completing the project Plastic Numbers and currently writing a new EP. My practical experience is further strengthened by skills in music production, mixing, and songwriting.

As an educator, I aim to inspire students to express themselves and create music. My focus is on empowering students to understand music deeply, allowing them to develop freedom on their instrument. I am patient, passionate, and committed to tailoring my approach to each student, balancing the development of technical skill with exploration and personal growth. I find great reward in witnessing the moment a student's understanding clicks, helping every learner achieve their musical potential and enjoy the lifelong rewards of making music.
