Hello
Hello, I teach Piano, Viola, Violin and Flute
My Story

I hold Grade 8 AMEB qualifications in piano, violin, viola, and flute, along with formal studies in music theory. I studied Viola at the Australian National University School of Music, where I was accepted for performance in both violin and flute before choosing to specialise in viola.

Music has been part of my life for as long as I can remember — I began learning at the age of four and have never really stopped. I’ve been teaching music since 2007, including nine years as a qualified teacher in Australian schools. Alongside classroom teaching, I’ve taught privately for many years and performed in quartets, chamber orchestras, and small ensembles, as well as managing a music-for-events business, performing at weddings and functions.

My teaching approach is flexible and student-centred. I believe music should be enjoyed for its own sake — joyful, expressive, and personal. Lessons are tailored to each student’s goals, whether that’s refining classical technique, building listening and collaboration skills, or simply playing for enjoyment. I also enjoy helping students explore pop and contemporary styles.

I particularly enjoy fostering a supportive environment where progress feels natural and music becomes a meaningful part of everyday life while helping students build confidence and a lasting connection with music.
