Hello
Hi, I teach Guitar and Drums
My Story
I hold a First-Class Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Music from Queen’s University Belfast (QUB). I’m a passionate musician and educator who loves playing, creating, and teaching music. My main instrument is guitar, but I also play bass guitar and drums.

I began playing guitar at the age of nine, inspired by my dad’s and granda’s rock music collections. By the time I was fifteen, I had achieved Grade 8 Rock Guitar and a Performance Diploma in Electric Guitar, and was already performing professionally in venues such as the Ulster Hall and the Belfast Grand Opera House.

During secondary school, I studied classical guitar and became deeply involved in music-making — performing in the jazz band, folk band, orchestra, gypsy jazz group, and school choir. I also wrote and released my own original music, performing around Belfast with my rock band, Neon Apathy.

At university, I discovered a passion for jazz guitar, which became my main focus. Today, alongside teaching, I perform regularly in jazz bars and festivals across Ireland, including the Donegal Gypsy Jazz Festival, where I’ve shared the stage with world-class musicians. I also work as a session musician and play with wedding and function bands.

I started teaching music in my final year of school and have continued ever since. Now a full-time teacher and professional musician, I teach acoustic, electric, classical, and jazz guitar, as well as bass guitar and drums. My teaching approach focuses on individuality, creativity, and musical understanding — helping each student develop strong technical skills while enjoying the process and discovering what makes the music they love so special.
