I am a violin, fiddle and music theory teacher with over 17 years’ experience teaching children and young people from beginner level through to Grade 8.

I hold Grade 8 Violin and an ARSM Diploma in Practical Performance with ABRSM, as well as Grade 5 Music Theory and Grade 4 Piano. I have extensive experience preparing pupils for ABRSM and Trinity classical violin exams, LCM Irish Traditional Fiddle exams, and music theory up to Grade 5.

My lessons are tailored to each pupil’s age, ability and goals. I teach both classical violin and Irish Traditional fiddle, as well as folk and other styles. Pupils can work towards graded exams, develop their playing for school or ensemble activities, or simply learn for enjoyment.

I incorporate music theory and aural skills into lessons to help pupils develop a strong overall understanding of music and become more confident, independent musicians. I also support students preparing for GCSE and A Level Music practical work, including solo and ensemble performance.

My aim is to create a relaxed, encouraging and supportive learning environment where pupils can build confidence, enjoy making music and progress at a pace that suits them.
