Hello

I teach guitar

My Story

My name is Jamie, and I have been playing guitar since the age of 12. Over the years, I have developed my playing across a range of styles, from learning songs for enjoyment to preparing for guitar exams and exploring music theory, composition and creative music-making.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Media Studies and Production from Ulster University, as well as a Master’s Degree in Film from Queen’s University Belfast. Music has played an important role throughout my academic and creative work. My guitar and musical skills have contributed to projects involving sound design, music recording and composition, including composing a complete film score—an achievement I am particularly proud of.

I also have experience teaching guitar informally, helping friends and family learn songs, build confidence and develop their playing. In addition, I have performed live at gigs, playing music by artists such as Pink Floyd, Oasis and The Beatles. I am always discovering new music and particularly enjoy helping students learn songs and styles they are genuinely excited about.

My experience in youth work through my local church has also helped me develop confidence in working with children and young people, as well as learners of different ages and abilities.

Whether you are picking up a guitar for the first time, hoping to learn your favourite songs, develop your technique or prepare for your first guitar exam, I aim to make lessons enjoyable, supportive and tailored to your individual goals.

I would love to help you build your confidence, develop your skills and enjoy your own musical journey.
