I have a Diploma in Indian Classical Vocal Music from the University of Mumbai and over 12 years of formal training in Indian classical vocal music under professional gurus, following the traditional Gharana-based approach.

I specialise in Indian classical vocal music, Bollywood and light music, and have performed at a variety of live events across the UK, both as a solo vocalist and in collaboration with other musicians. I also play harmonium and keyboard, and enjoy exploring different musical styles and working with musicians from a range of backgrounds.

As a teacher, I work with beginner and intermediate students, helping them develop strong foundations in vocal technique, sargam, pitch, rhythm, musical understanding and confidence in singing. I can also incorporate harmonium into lessons alongside vocal training where appropriate.

My teaching philosophy is to create a supportive, encouraging and enjoyable learning environment in which each student can progress at their own pace. I aim to combine the discipline and foundations of traditional Indian classical training with a flexible approach that reflects each learner’s interests, whether they wish to develop their classical singing, explore Bollywood and light music, or simply become a more confident and expressive singer.
