Hello
I am a Piano and Flute Tutor
My Story
I have been playing the piano since the age of six and the flute since I was seven. I have achieved ABRSM Grade 8 in both Piano and Flute and am currently continuing my studies towards diploma level.
All of my piano training, from my earliest lessons through to Grade 8 and beyond, has been undertaken through Enact Music. Having progressed through this journey as an Enact Music student myself, I have first-hand experience of the encouragement, structure and support that can help young musicians develop their confidence, skills and enjoyment of music over time.
Alongside my individual instrumental studies, I have extensive experience performing in a range of ensembles and orchestras. These opportunities have helped me develop not only as an instrumentalist, but also in areas such as musical communication, listening, ensemble awareness and performance confidence.
As a tutor, I want lessons to be enjoyable and engaging while also helping each student make clear musical progress. I aim to create a relaxed, positive and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, trying new things and developing at their own pace.
Lessons will be adapted to each student's individual interests, abilities and goals, whether they are learning for enjoyment, developing their general musicianship or working towards graded examinations. Alongside learning repertoire, I aim to help students build strong foundations in areas such as technique, rhythm, musical expression, sight-reading and confidence in performance.
Most importantly, I want students to enjoy making music. My aim is to encourage curiosity, confidence and independence while helping each learner develop the skills and enthusiasm that can support a lifelong love of music.
