Job description
Overview
We are seeking passionate and dedicated instrumental music teachers to join our music education team from September 2025. We intend to hire a total of five teachers, with different specialism areas: Piano, Singing, Drums, Guitar, Violin and Flute.
The ideal candidates will have a strong background in performance and pedagogy, in their specialist areas, with the ability to inspire and engage students of all ages and skill levels.
This role requires a commitment to fostering a love for music while providing high-quality instruction tailored to individual student needs. Please note that selected candidates for this work opportunity will need to undergo a NI Enhanced Check.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement lesson that cater to the diverse learning styles of students.
Teach healthy techniques, music theory, and performance skills in an engaging manner.
Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to encourage improvement.
Prepare students for recitals, exams, and other performance opportunities.
Maintain a positive and supportive learning environment that promotes creativity and self-expression.
Communicate effectively with students and their families regarding progress and any areas for improvement.- Stay updated on current teaching methods, music trends, and educational resources.
Essential Requirements
-Performance proficiency equivalent to at least grade 6 standard performance in accordance with the UK based instrumental music education exam boards.
- Proficiency in all or at least one of the following musical styles: classical, jazz, contemporary, Trad.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and inspire students.
- Patience, creativity, and adaptability in teaching approaches.
- Based in Northern Ireland.
- Driving license with access to a car.
- Be registered as self-employed with HMRC
DESIRABLE
- A university degree in piano performance or in a Music Education related area, or a related field is preferred but not essential.
- Previous teaching experience (however, all training is provided).
- Ability to play additional instruments is a plus.
