Discover the joy of making music together in this engaging Piano Ensemble & Duets Summer Class at Enact Music in Belfast BT8, part of our creative kids summer music camp and summer scheme in Northern Ireland. This dynamic class gives piano students the opportunity to experience an exciting side of music-making that is often missing from individual lessons — playing piano with others.
 
In a fun and supportive group setting, students explore piano duets and ensemble activities that develop their ability to listen carefully, coordinate with others, and interact musically as part of a group. Through guided duet repertoire and collaborative exercises, participants strengthen essential ensemble skills such as maintaining a steady pulse, balancing musical parts, and responding to their partner within a shared musical texture.
 
The class also supports wider musicianship development, including aural training and sight-reading. Students practise recognising musical patterns by ear, responding rhythmically and melodically to musical cues, and approaching new pieces with greater confidence and fluency.
 
For many young musicians who mainly learn piano through one-to-one lessons, this class offers a valuable opportunity to build confidence performing and playing with others. Informal performance opportunities help students gradually overcome performance nerves while developing stage awareness, musical communication, and a positive mindset towards sharing music.
 
As part of the Enact Music Belfast Summer Scheme, this class is one of the most enriching piano summer classes and kids music camps in Belfast, welcoming young musicians from BT8, South Belfast, and across Northern Ireland.
 
Led by our Company Director, Dr Lilian Simones, an internationally recognised music teacher, educator and music education researcher.
